Overview
A landmark on the Gold Coast since its opening in 1992 (originally as the Marriott Resort), the property underwent a $35 million transformation before rebranding to JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa in December 2020. Today, it stands as one of Australia’s premier luxury resorts, combining contemporary elegance with the natural beauty of its surroundings.
The 223 guest rooms and suites feature a calming coastal palette, floor-to-ceiling windows, and private balconies with views over the ocean, hinterland, or waterways. Rooms are equipped with plush JW Marriott bedding, smart TVs, Nespresso machines, workspaces, and sleek bathrooms with deep baths and rainfall showers. Suites add spacious living and dining areas, plus upgraded amenities.
The resort’s centrepiece is its expansive lagoon area, complete with a sandy beach, waterfalls, and a saltwater reef stocked with tropical fish for guest snorkelling. Additional leisure facilities include a freshwater pool, whirlpools, tennis court, and 24-hour fitness centre.
Dining options are exceptional, led by Citrique, serving seasonal buffet and à la carte menus, and Misono, Queensland’s largest teppanyaki restaurant. Guests can enjoy casual bites at the Chapter & Verse lounge and bar, or poolside refreshments from the lagoon bar. The resort’s Spa by JW offers an extensive menu of wellness treatments, creating a complete luxury retreat.
